The Tang Scholarship is open to Asian/Pacific Islander students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender with demonstrated involvement in the LGBT community. You must be a graduate of a high school in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Napa, Sonoma or Solano, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be between the ages of 17 and 25 and be enrolled full-time at an accredited two, four-year university or graduate school in order to be considered for this award.
