SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) Scholarship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5
Award Amount: $25,000 - $38,000
The SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) Scholarship is open to currently enrolled college and graduate students. You must be pursuing a technical degree in one of the 21 STEM disciplines, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be able to participate in summer internships and willing to accept post-graduate employment at the DoD in order to be considered for this award. Applicants must also be at least 18 years of age and be a resident of the United States, Canada, New Zealand, or United Kingdom. Tyler J. Viney Memorial Scholarship

Available to: College Seniors
Award Amount: Varies The Tyler J. Viney Memorial Scholarship is available to fourth- and fifth-year students enrolled in the departments or schools of architecture at the following colleges: Prairie View A&M University, Rice University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Texas at Arlington, University of Texas at Austin and University of Texas at San Antonio. Royce Osborne Minority Student Scholarship

Award Amount: 5 Awards of $4,000 Sponsored by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Royce Osborne Minority Student Scholarship is open to minority students who are attending an entry-level radiologic sciences program. Award Amount: Varies The Dr. William W.L. "Bill" Taylor Memorial Scholarship Competition is available to students attending or planning to attend a Washington DC Metropolitan-area university or college. You must also be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate academic achievement through your GPA. You must be registered for full-time study as a student in good standing in your high school, college or university. In addition, you must demonstrate your participation in a Very Low Frequency (VLF) research project, leadership abilities, and your motivation as a physical science student to be eligible for this award. NASA Internships

Available to: Minimum Age 16 Years Provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the NASA Internships are available to are available to high school through graduate level students attending full-time accredited programs appropriate to the NASA internship. You must be a U.S. citizen, majoring in wide-variety of majors ranging from business to science and engineering to be considered for this internship. College-level interns must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. As an intern, you will engage in scientific or engineering research, development, and operations activities. EMC Internship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The EMC Internship is open to graduate and undergraduate students majoring in business, marketing, finance, computer science, information technology, electrical and computer engineering, and law. INROADS Internship Program

Available to: Maximum Age 18 Years The INROADS Internship Program matches underrepresented minority students with internship opportunities with more than 60 major corporations, including Fortune 500 companies. Students who have career interests in Business, Engineering, Computers and Information Sciences, Retail Store Management, Sales, Health, or Marketing are encouraged to apply. You must be either a graduating high school senior who has been admitted to an accredited college or university or a college freshman or sophomore to be eligible for these internships. High school students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, college students must have a minimum 2.8 GPA. All applicants must be permanent residents of the United States. Hormel Product Development Internship

Available to: College Juniors The Hormel Product Development Internship is open to junior animal science majors. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate leadership skills, strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to qualify for this award. Previous meats experience (i.e. university meat lab, meats judging team, etc.) is beneficial. A requirement of this position is to be a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident or have a valid work visa. Retensa Internship Program

Available to: College Seniors through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Retensa Internship Program is available to college seniors or graduate students attending an accredited four-year university or graduate school with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. You must be majoring in business management, management information systems, marketing, computer science, industrial/organizational psychology, and organizational/human resource development. Prior relevant coursework or experience and computing skills are required. A minimum of 3 days/week is required and flexible hours are available. Chabot Space and Science Center Internship

Available to: College Freshmen through Graduate Students, Year 5 The Chabot Space and Science Center Internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a career in the museum field and have a strong interest in science and education. To be eligible for this internship, you must: have a desire to gain hands-on experience in exhibit development and the overall workings of a science museum; and possess strong creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm and problem-solving skills; have excellent research, writing, verbal communication and strong computer skills; have experience with digital imaging, graphic design and/or CAD software (Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXPress, AutoCAD, etc.); have shop skills and experience using hand and power tools to work with wood, plastics, metals and paints; and have prior collections management experience. Interns will work as part of a team with the exhibits manager, exhibit content developers, exhibit technicians and exhibit volunteers. Three letters of recommendation are required.
