Business-to-business publisher WTWH Media today announced that Gary Mulcahy, Chief Technology Officer, Astrodyne TDI, will deliver a keynote address at the Healthcare Robotics Engineering Forum 2019.
The Healthcare Robotics Engineering Forum, which takes place December 9-10 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara, CA, is a conference and expo focused on easing, speeding and improving the design, development and manufacture of healthcare robotics products and services.
“We are delighted to have Gary Mulcahy deliver a keynote address at the Healthcare Robotics Engineering Forum,” said Dan Kara, vice president of robotics at WTWH Media. “With more than 40 years of experience related to power conversion in the medical, industrial, commercial and military markets, he is a recognized authority in power conversion technology and the design, development and production of power systems for maximum performance and reliability.”
In his keynote, “Considerations on Power Assurance for Robotic Surgery Applications,” Mulcahy will identify the many challenges to ensuring continuous power during robot-assisted surgical procedures. He will present modern methods for assuring continuous power that comply with applicable safety standards, minimize space requirements, and optimize product life and reliability.
- Rich Mahoney, co-founder and CEO of wearable technology provider Seismic, will explain how healthcare robotics research and commercial development can deliver social benefits in addition to improving clinical outcomes and controlling business costs.
- Corey Ryan, manager of medical robotics at KUKA Robotics, will discuss how collaborative robots can serve as a developmental platform for promising new healthcare applications.
- Ken Goldberg, professor of industrial engineering and operations research at the University of California, Berkeley, will describe how machine learning and data collected from surgical robots can be used to “learn” robot control policies for common surgical tasks.
- Naysahn Saeed, global director of healthcare services at CSA Group, will talk about how medical robotics providers can navigate the many challenges related to standards, regulatory approval, and product access to global markets.
- Carla Pugh, professor of surgery and director of the Technology Enabled Clinical Improvement Center at the Stanford University School of Medicine, will look at how technologies including analytics, haptics, sensing, and simulation, as well as evolving medical practices, can transform healthcare.
